James Stenson, DO Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Stenson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow care, practicing at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, and Jefferson Lansdale Hospital. His practice focuses on the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow conditions, with particular expertise in anatomic and reverse shoulder replacement, complex revision surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, and fractures of the clavicle, shoulder, and elbow.
Dr. Stenson earned his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, where he was a member of the ice hockey team and graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate through Army ROTC. He received his medical degree from Rowan University and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Jefferson Health New Jersey. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Stenson has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national meetings, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of shoulder and elbow surgery.
A combat veteran with 14 years of military service, Dr. Stenson served as a Medical Officer in the New Jersey Army National Guard. His military honors include the Bronze Star, Army Achievement Medal with Combat Device, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Operation Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and the Air Assault Badge.
Dr. Stenson is currently accepting new patients in East Norriton and Philadelphia. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and being with his family. He lives in Bucks County with his wife, Dr. Irene Stenson, and their three children.
